SHADEMAKER ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF POLARIS TO CONTRACT UMBRELLA LINE
May 15, 2013 – Baldwin Park, CA --For 2013, Shademaker, the premier line of umbrellas for restaurants, resorts, country clubs and high end residential designers, announces the addition of the newest design, the Polaris. The Polaris will offer advanced functionality in a square 13 foot (4.0 M) side post model.
“The Polaris is ideal for high end residential applications as well as resorts where large shade is desired,” said Jeff B. Dorough, vice president, sales and marketing, Shademaker USA, Baldwin Park, Calif. “With the 360 degree rotation, Polaris is able to provide shade for multiple outdoor areas from dining to poolside.”
The Polaris provides a full 13’ (4.0M) square shade expanse. The side post umbrella’s capabilities include full rotation from a single non-obstructive installation point providing 169 square feet of shade. The umbrella mast retracts when use is not desired. An easy trigger lock system has been engineered by Shademaker for tilting and creation of multiple shade options. The Polaris features a superior silver anodized aluminum finish that is favored for commercial applications due to greater durability and resistance to tarnishing, scratching or corrosion. Each Polaris unit is built with the Shademaker heavy duty mast and rib wall thickness.
“Trending in contract shade products is the use of multiple units to create cozy outdoor environments as well as non-obstructing installations,” said Dorough. “With the Polaris, both of these trends were taken into consideration.” As a square umbrella design, the Polaris is able to be grouped to create a roof over multiple dining or leisure areas. While eliminating barriers to outdoor room planning and patron flow, the side post design of Shademaker’s Polaris was developed to mount in concrete or in ground.
The Polaris from Shademaker will be on display at the 2013 HD Expo at Booth #1635 in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, NV as well as NeoCon, Showroom #1655, Merchandise Mart, Chicago, Ill.
John T. Unger Studio’s Sculptural Firebowls Heating Up 2013 Hospitality Design Expo in Las Vegas
Sculptor John T. Unger, in conjunction with Frontera Furniture Company, will be displaying his renowned Great Bowl O' Fire Sculptural Firebowl at the May 2013 Hospitality Design Expo at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be the first time that the firebowls have been shown at HDExpo.
Unger's line of Sculptural Firebowls have been commissioned by world class hospitality properties including RumFire, Waikiki; SouthWest Porch, Bryant Park, NYC; The Canyons Resort in Park City, UT and dozens more. Frankford Hall, a Philadelphia, PA, biergarten found that Unger's Big Bowl O' Zen design drove thousands of sales of s'more kits. “We were seeing such tremendous draw for s’mores, we decided to add a second firebowl, then a third” said Greg Root, Frankford Hall General Manager. Restaurant patrons enjoy the firebowls' warmth and social atmosphere while also creating a fun treat.
Participants of the Expo will have the opportunity to view and order The Great Bowl O' Fire at Booth 2171 during the May 15-17 Expo. Unger's other Sculptural Firebowl designs will also be available for order from Frontera, and can be viewed in oversized catalogs.
